Low-carbon Demonstration Community

From 2016 to 2020, the construction of seven new innovative Living City Labs will be phased into The Living City Campus.

Building on the success of the existing labs, Toronto and Region Conservation, in partnership with the BRE Innovation Parks Network, expansion of The Living City Campus will include seven additional Living City Labs to form an archetype low carbon demonstration community showcasing innovation in sustainable construction.

By providing a phased development to meet various themes and performance targets, The Living City Campus offers industry a structured route to develop products and services that can be implemented, tested, monitored and verified years before the “push” from legislation comes into force.
